Digit Filters Neighbors Boxed The Neighbors Boxed (P34ID:NB-BOX) is a so called "digit filter". A digit filter divides each digit into options. The Neighbors filter has the following options:
Digits = Neighbors 0 = 1 1 = 1 2 = 2 3 = 2 4 = 3 5 = 3 6 = 4 7 = 4 8 = 5 9 = 5
| Neighbors = Digits 1 = 0 1 2 = 2 3 3 = 4 5 4 = 6 7 5 = 8 9
|
The addition "Boxed" (BOX) refers to the fact that in this case the position within the result is of no interest. So the filter string is always sorted in ascending order. Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit. To show you how to create the Neighbors filter for certain numbers select one of the links below for a step by step example.
