Combined Filters Neighbors Distance Codes Pairs The Neighbors Distance Codes (NB-DSC) is a so called "combined filter", a combination of a digit and a math filter. It requires two separate parts to create the filter.
Neighbors (NB) is yet another alternative to the old VTracs (VTX). Instead of combining digits by adding 5 it selects the all even digits with the next odd digit up, 0 with 1, 2 with 3 all the way to 8 with 9. It is another efficient way to combine an odd with an even digit.
To show you how to calculate the Neighbors Distance Codes filter for a Pick 2 number here an example step by step.
Part I: Pairs Neighbors Distance Codes Conversion Step 1: Divide 39 into separate digits: 39 => 3 9 Step 2: Convert each digit to filter: 3 = 2 9 = 5 Step 3: Combine the filters to a string: 2 5 = 25
Part II: Pairs Neighbors Distance Codes Conversion Step 1: Divide the number into separate digits: 25 => 2 5 Step 2: Calculate the distance between each digit and the next (the last digit with the first): 2 to 5 => 3 5 to 2 => 3 Step 3: Convert distances to codes (0=E[qual], 1 & 9 = C[onsecutive], 2-8 = N[one]): 3 => N 3 => N Step 4: Combine the filters to a string: N N = NN
